Mrs Jones-Whyte
I feel it such a privilege to work with children sharing in their learning journeys and discoveries. I have been a primary school teacher for eleven years. My first degree was in Theatre from the University of Leeds and part of my study was Theatre in Education where I became interested in how dramatic conventions reached the ‘whole child’ as a learner. I worked with theatre companies promoting Higher Education in primary schools, Anti-Bullying campaigns with the West-Yorkshire police in secondary schools and toured theatres in Italy with Oscar Wilde’s ‘The importance of being Ernest’ to English language students. Following this, I decided it was time to have my own classroom and become a primary school teacher! I gained my PGCE at the University of East Anglia where I developed my research further into how children learn effectively through different mediums. I believe in creating a vibrant and happy learning environment where children feel confident to share ideas, explore, theorise, debate, reflect and reach higher; allowing each child to flourish, succeed and be a happy learner!
I am a very positive person. I love adventures, exploring different places and learning new things. I enjoy reading, going to the theatre; dancing and singing. I love spending time with my family and friends.
I am very excited to meet you all and be part of your learning journeys.
